Owlets wore non uniform on Friday for Express Yourself Day! 😊

WB 29 01 2024

Eagle Owls enjoyed week 2 with parent artist Eddie Kagimu and created landscapes with their water colours this week. They have really enjoyed these fantastic sessions.

Some Eagle Owls were able to go to the UEA and have a fun morning increasing their confidence in the water. There were several different activities run by pupils from Hethersett Academy – some past pupils, which was lovely.

WB 29 01 2024

This week the Barn Owls finished writing their own informal letters inspired by Aunty Dot’s letters from her trip around the world. They presented their letters on special blue ‘airmail’ paper and they used pens!

WB 29 01 2024

Over the past few weeks in art they have been studying colour and learning about warm/cool, pale/bright, dark/light colours and colour mixing. On Friday they looked at the work of Wassily Kandinsky and had a go at creating their own version of one of his pieces of artwork.
Snowy Owls have enjoyed another Science Day this week! They wrote and filmed their own weather forecasts.

For Science Day this week they have put their homemade rain gauges outside and are keeping a close eye on them at playtimes and lunchtimes. It just didn’t rain much this week for a change!!

WB 29 01 2024

Owlets imagined what it might be like to walk through the woods or a forest in the snow. They painted winter pictures.

In maths, Owlets have been learning about number sentences. They made their own addition sums.
In phonics we have been writing words with double letters in.

WB 22 01 2024

Well done to our Year 5 pupils this week, who completed a second afternoon of working with student nurses who are interested in caring for children. We were able to provide a first hand experience for them. Here’s what else has been happening 😊
Eagle Owls are enjoying the first of 2 special art sessions with parent artist Mr Kagimu. They experimented with watercolours and created some fabulous art work.

Some examples of the children’s watercolour paintings 🩷

WB 22 01 2024

Barn Owls continue with their science project of Sound. They were able to see how the sound waves created splashing water when they used a tuning fork and struck it to make it vibrate, then put it in a cup of water.

WB 22 01 2024

In art, Snowy have been exploring colour mixing using watercolours.

WB 22 01 2024

Owlets made mini Superheroes of themselves! They carefully chose the colours that they wanted to represent their superhero.
