We hope everyone enjoyed the half term break. First week back led to lots of different activities at school.
Snowy Owls played a game to learn imperative or ‘bossy’ verbs. They also practiced using them with instructions on making a jam sandwich.

Owlets have started a new topic ‘Down on the Farm’ After drawing some farm animals, we labelled our pictures.

In mathematics Owlets have been representing numbers to 10 in different ways.

Eagle Owls are preparing for the annual Dance Show and part of the dance is a freeze frame. They are all SUPERSTARS which is our theme this year!!

In Science this week, the Barn Owls used musical instruments to learn about pitch. They then made their own panpipes to demonstrate what they had discovered.

Snowy Owls have been writing, thinking about nouns and verbs. They also completed their art work and had a geography day, they can now recognise the Scottish and Welsh flags.

We made lanterns for Chinese New Year. 2024 is the year of the Dragon 🐉 After reading The Great Race, we had some races outside to practice our ordinal numbers.
Owlets were born in the ‘Year of the Dog’ 🐶 and the ‘Year of the Pig’ 🐷

This week Owlets celebrated Valentine’s Day by making heart decorations. 🩷

As we head towards the end of this half term, we finished with a non-uniform Express Yourself day. Eagle Owls enjoyed lots of rewards through this week of good mental health, including songs from their 100% success on AR.
To end our Good Mental Heath week, Eagle got to play some of their favourite PE indoor games.

As we head towards the end of this half term, we finished with a non-uniform Express Yourself day

.The Barn Owls are learning about Shape Poems. They have started by creating their own word calligrams and then making their own animal calligrams inspired by the Bembo’s Zoo animation.

This week the Barn Owls worked in teams to make hot air balloons, but without instructions. They worked well together to solve problems and learn from mistakes.

As we head towards the end of this half term, we finished with a non-uniform Express Yourself day.

Snowy Owls enjoyed Express Yourself day. Children thought about what was special / important to them. The centre of the swirl shows things that are important daily / at home, gradually spreading out to include important things in the wider world.
