We celebrated World Book Day last week, and the children all looked fantastic! Thank you to those parents who also helped with a vegetable character! The photos don’t do them justice!

On Tuesday night Eagle Owls were lucky to come back to school to have a wonderful clear night, and a special alignment of planets to see! We have telescopes from the Teacher Science Network and pupils brought along their own. They also used iPads to observe the constellations. It was a great night.
Eagle Owls made Star jars and had a warming hot chocolate to end the night. Well done!

This week the Barn Owls worked with their partners to research facts about a Norwich tourist attraction. They used their research to create a fact-file and a careful drawing to share with the rest of the class.

Snowy Owls finished off their Antarctica topic with a special ‘Antarctica Day’ on Thursday. They made floor maps and planned a journey to the South Pole, mapping their route across the globe. They made penguin masks, binoculars and expedition kits which contained all the things they might need. We had loads of fun!

This week we had a Planetarium in school (a giant wind-inflated dome to project star constellations onto the ceiling). We had to crawl through a tunnel to get inside. It was very dark, but we saw some stars and planets 🪐 🌎 Mrs Lawrence read a story to us by torchlight! 🔦
For Valentine’s Day, Owlets made cards and decorated a wooden heart 💖🥰
