Owlets have been reading The Scarecrow’s Wedding by Julia Donaldson and have made their own wooden spoon scarecrows!
They have also been practising their skills for life by buttering some bread and eating it afterwards. It is tricky when you first try to butter your own bread!
Owlets have completed some art work using food and the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo for inspiration to make faces in unusual ways!
Eagle Owls continue with cooking through the ages and this week made Mac and Cheese! We are getting very modern now and hopefully they are learning some wonderful skills for life!
The Barn Owls have learnt about Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs. They used this to write their name as a cartouche and are now using them as bookmarks.
After their visit from the dentist last week, the Barn Owls created information posters explaining how to keep teeth healthy.
This week in Year 1 we have been learning about speech bubbles. We created speech bubbles for the vegetables in Supertato! We also spent time with our new learning partners in Barn Owls and have been thinking about number ordering in maths.
Tawny Owls have also been doing more extended pieces of writing about Supertato.
Time is flying and we are still enjoying great weather. In a week where our Y5/6 played in a mixed football tournament at the UEA, here is some of what the Owlets did!In maths we have been learning about big and small. We practiced our ball skills with different sized balls to see which was easier to catch.
In phonics we have been writing our letter sounds.
Eagle Owls are cooking through the ages and this week a popular dish from many years: Pineapple Upside Down Cake. They were all very happy with the result, and we hope that you enjoyed them at home too!
Barn Owls are enjoying their music at the moment and are developing their rhythm and tempo with different warm up dances. They are keeping a tune with the glockenspiels and play along with the Charanga videos. They are also learning Mamma Mia by ABBA and we enjoy hearing them singing along!
Part of the busy week that Snowy Owls had was a visit from Emma the Dental Nurse and Derek the Dinosaur. We were told all about the importance of brushing our teeth regularly and how to look after our teeth properly with advice on what to eat and drink!
Owlets have been busy all week! We had a visit from Emma the Dental Nurse and Derek the Dinosaur. we learned about our teeth and how to take care of them. We made our own jigsaw puzzle, owl masks and a Mini Me! Now it’s the weekend we can have a rest!
