WB 06 11 2023

The Year 1s have been writing sentences independently about the sun, Earth, astronauts and rockets. We have focused on using capital letters, finger spaces, full stops and to check it makes sense.

Snowy Owls have been learning about light and dark in science this week. They used a torch on a globe to show how we get day and night. They have also worked together to make a handprint poppy wreath for Remembrance and been writing space sentences.

WB 06 11 2023

Owlets had a visit from Laura who works for Cats Protection. We learned about the charity and how to look after our cats and other small pets! 🐈‍⬛ We have also been thinking about Remembrance and what it means. We made our own poppy to put up in class 🌺

WB 30 10 2023

KS2 were excited to have a Music Worldwide Workshop on Tuesday. They got to work with Pedro Espi-Sanchis. He performed with a wide range of unexpected instruments, from pipes made from kelp to a bow with a gourd threaded onto it to make a stringed instrument. We learnt how even in the most remote village in South Africa they can make music from everything that they have!

Then on Friday we were able to transport 42 children from across KS2 to the annual Cross Country Competition at Earlham Park. Well done to all that took part and to parents who were able to come and support.

Snowy Owls are looking at how the seasons change through the year and are looking at the changes in trees at the moment – which are glorious at the moment!

WB 30 10 2023

Autumnal weather for our first week back! Owlets have been making spiders out of pipe cleaners!

They continue to work hard with letter formation and this week focused on number formation too.

Owlets had fun scooping out pumpkins ready for Mrs Martins to carve out a Halloween Face!

What a lovely end to the first half term – our Harvest Assembly. Thank you all so much for your donations and for braving the torrential rain to join us! Have a great half term.

Eagle Owls finished the food tech for this term by making a modern dish – they made veggie burgers. The development of vegetarian and Vegan food has really taken off this century. They have really enjoyed the food technology this year. Well done to Mrs Bushell, Mrs Awbery and Mrs Graves without whom we couldn’t do any cooking. It is an organisational triumph in a such a small school with no designated food tech room!

They have also been reading The Time Travelling Cat and the Egyptian Goddess and then researched the importance of cats in Egyptian culture.
