Owlets have been learning about the Rainforest and how humans are cutting down trees. We made posters to help save the animals that live there.

We also celebrated Red Nose Day on Friday and made our own red noses!

Can you believe we are halfway through the year already! We ended this half term with a lovely Day of Calm run by our School Sports Partnership, Suzy. She taught different techniques that will help our pupils with wellbeing and good mental health. They ranged from free drawing to different musical tracks, breathing techniques, Tai Chi and slow careful movements to focus the mind away from worries, listening very carefully to a sound until it can’t be heard any longer and laying still with concentration on our surroundings and own breathing. We value skills for life and hope that our pupils can take something away from their session today, that may help them to find a calm inner peace and to support in times of anxiety.

WB 30 01 2023

Owlets celebrated Chinese New Year, the year of the Rabbit. We tasted noodles and prawn crackers and tried to use chopsticks! We listened to the story of The Great Race and ordered the animals according to their finishing position in the face. A fun time for Reception!

WB 23 01 2023

Owlets have been celebrating Chinese New Year! Reception children were born in the Year of the Rooster and the Year of the Dog. We read lots of different stories, these are our favourites.

WB 16 01 2023

The Owlets finished their week in a fun way by all dressing up as penguins! Mrs Martins came into assembly dressed as a penguin and led the Owlets on a parade of the hall. It was Penguin Awareness Day.

Owlets took part in different penguin activities and learned lots of new penguin facts. It was a lovely end to the week.

Owlets new topic is Antarctica. We had to think of ways to rescue some polar animals that had become stuck in ice! We measured penguins to see how tall they were using cubes and practised writing our new words.
