Owlets

WB 14 11 2022

Owlets read through Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert and then went and found some autumn leaves of their own to thread onto a leaf ‘kebab’!They also tried leaf rubbings. A beautiful way to look in detail at autumnal leaves.

This week Owlets have been discussing what Poppy Day is all about and have made some effective stained glass window poppies for their classroom.

They have also created their own firework pictures and practiced suitable vocabulary to go with them!

Welcome back! This week Owlets have been revising their Phase 2 sounds and writing CVC words.

We have completed the first half term – well done everyone! This week Owlets have been making repeating patterns and learning about parts of our bodies.

This week Owlets have been continuing their learning about Harvest. We read the book ‘The Little Red Hen’ and made toast with jam! In maths we have been sorting objects into big and small. We also looked at the work of the famous artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. owlets designed their own vegetable fruit portraits!


WB 03 10 2022

Owlets have been  learning about Harvest. They sorted different foods into groups and did some fruits and vegetable printing. In maths they have been comparing different amounts of objects.


WB 26/09/2022

Owlets have been having a go at self portraits this week. This is an important skill and they did a very good job for the first try we hope you agree!

They have also heard and worked with the term ‘adjectives’ to describe the story ‘ Five Minutes Peace’


Owlets

This week Owlets sponge painted some baby owls for a display. They made Mini Me stick puppets, played some musical instruments and practiced counting the Compare Bears accurately.

 


Welcome to our Owlets

We have had a lovely week starting to get used to routines and meeting Year 6 so that they have a buddy around school.

Owlets have been listening to the story of Owl Babies by Martin Waddell and completing some activities. They have enjoyed exploring the outdoor classroom and making new friends. Today they had a go at making some patterns with the pegs and boards.
