The beans that the Owlets planted are growing so well, they got to put their beans into pots this week! They had to place the soil in the pots and make sure to leave room for those roots. The children are keeping a detailed diary of the their observations. They are growing really fast and the children are loving it!
Pupils were excited about the upcoming King Charles III coronation and on Friday the whole school had a variety of activities around the event and then we all got together in the hall and celebrated with a cupcake and drink followed by some colouring. Owlets also made their own Crowns and keep-sake bookmarks. Enjoy this special historical long weekend!
Another busy week, with one of many 3 day weekends at the end! Hope you enjoy the long weekend.
Owlets have been looking at different ways of making teen numbers using a ten frame or cubes.
We are planting beans to see how they grow and are going to keep an observation diary to record what happens.
Some Owlets have been practicing their balance skills leading to riding a bike with Little Riders.
Welcome Back! We hope that you all had a lovely Easter break and are ready for the summer term! Owlets began their new topic called ‘How does your garden grow?’ The children have been talking about their own gardens. In preparation for planting runner beans in school next week.
Spring Term is now complete! Well done everyone.
Owlets had a very busy last week – taking part in their first School Sports Partnership event: Multi-Skills at Eaton College. They were enthusiastic and so well behaved representing their school for the first time – we were very proud, well done to them all. The activities tested all their motor skills and included balance on bikes. They did really well.
They have also been busy with Easter crafts including making chocolate cornflake cakes and we had a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny who filled their nests with mini-eggs!
Owlets have been learning how to do the Hokey Cokey in their music lessons!
In phonics they have been practicing sentence writing and in maths we have been looking at ‘Pairs’ including pairing up lots of socks!
Owlets have been learning about the Rainforest and how humans are cutting down trees. We made posters to help save the animals that live there.
We also celebrated Red Nose Day on Friday and made our own red noses!
This week the whole school dressed up for Crazy Clothes Day ( a fund-raising initiative for the local Little Lifts identified by Verity in Year 5)- please see the Newsletter for a link with more information. The Owlets made the most of the snow when it finally arrived in Norfolk!
They also have been making teen numbers and adding with Numicon.
