Barn Owls

WB 30 09 2024

Another topsy turvy weather week with horrible wet play times then glorious sun by the end of the week!! Here’s some of what we’ve been up to!
This week the Barn Owls have been learning about StoneHenge. They have created information pages and have started some art work. Watch this space for the completed paintings.

In RE, the Barn Owls have been learning about Hinduism. They worked hard to make masks of the different gods and goddesses.

The Barn Owls have been learning about resilience and that it is okay to make mistakes as they are opportunities to learn and grow. They all thought about a flop that they can flip.

Well done to all the Owlets for settling into full time school so well this week. They are supported by their Eagle Owl buddies who are there for them should they need anything 🩷 Here are some other things we got up to!
The Barn Owls have started learning about the human skeleton and the scientific names for the bones. This week they made their own skeletons to label. They have been thinking about how important a growth mindset is. They changed themselves into superheroes to show that they have the ‘Power of Yet’

A week of mixed emotions! We celebrate our children completing another year but have to say farewell to our lovely Year 6. A great end to the year: the Leavers Performance was fab, and we had a glorious sunny week to end our summer term. Have a great summer 🩷

As part of their work about the Victorians, the Barn Owls looked at the art work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and William Morris. They then had a go at drawing their own designs inspired by both of the artists – they were really pleased with their results.

Beautiful week, lots of activities going on around and out of school!
On Thursday last week (20th), the Barn Owls visited Gressenhall to take part in a ‘Victorian Whodunnit!’ They had a fabulous day learning about Victorian workhouses and they fully immersed themselves in helping Lady Hermione solve the murder of Annie Rudd. Thank you to all parents for providing them with such great costumes.
