Barn Owls

How does sound travel?

Barn Owls have been investigating how sound travels and were able to get a visual representation using a tuning fork and water. The sound waves could easily be seen – they made quite a splash!

Around the World in 80 Days

Barn Owls have started their exciting topic Around the World in 80 Days. They looked at maps of the world and planned their own routes around the world.

We made passports and thought about what we would need in our suitcases, using Phileas Fogg’s adventures from the Jules Verne novel.

Pharaoh for the day!

We have completed some Cartouches  (an Egyptian burial plate which is shaped like an oval that is dedicated to an important deceased person, such as a Pharaoh) and became Pharaoh for the day!

Religious Education in Barn – Judaism

Barn Owls have been learning about Judaism and have produced some wonderful double page spreads demonstrating their understanding of the religion. They have presented them in their own way and shown their understanding through some excellent written work. Well done!

Happy Christmas!

Barn Owls wish you all Merry Christmas!

They enjoyed a paper chain competition and writing their shape poetry as well as taking on the main roles in ‘It’s a Party’.

Barn Owls – still managing to work hard around their preparation for the Christmas Play!

In French Barn Owls have researched how they celebrate Christmas in France:

They have done some more work with Calligrams  – creating an image out of words:

….and they are working hard with the Christmas Play:

Christmas Art Project for the Church

The whole school were involved with creating these lovely Christmas decorations using only recycled materials. Thank you for all the donations of CD’s – we made plenty to decorate the Church. Come and see them when we go to the Church for the Carols next week.

How to treat your teeth posters.

To start Anti-Bullying week we all wore odd socks for Odd Socks Day.

Barn Owls created excellent posters advertising how to treat your teeth so that they last you a very long time!

National Science Day

The investigation into substances that could affect our teeth showed clear cut results!
